Bay of Plenty. Te Moana o Toi Huatahi.
Major Bunbury left Northland on HMS Herald carrying Treaty Sheet 7. He travelled down the coast of the Bay of Plenty where he instructed the missionary James Stack to make two copies of his copy of the Treaty. This copy was then taken around the area by the trader James Fedarb where he obtained 26 Maori signatures at meetings at 5 locations. It has Fedarb's note at the bottom. The other copy, sent inland, was lost. It is the only Treaty copy without Hobson's signature.
